Please open the attached letter from Superintenedent Terry Lyons regarding information about the new Tecumseh school. This letter was sent home on Friday afternoon, but our morning JK and SK classes will not receive it until Monday morning.
The temporary site in Tecumseh is no longer an option. For September 2010, all of our students will remain in our school. The students affected by the boundary change will attend the new Tecumseh school when it is completed and ready for occupancy.

If you are looking for more information on the new French Immersion school to be built in Tecumseh, there are some useful resources on the GECDSB website. There is a map showing the boundaries, minutes of the Information Meeting held on November 25th, as well as comments and recommendations to be taken into consideration.
The Board has established the boundaries for the new dual track elementary school in Tecumseh. Some of our students will become part of the Tecumseh School community effective September, 2010. The school will be temporarily housed at a site in the town of Tecumseh until the construction of the new school is completed.
The boundaries for the new school will be:
Northern Boundary: Lake St. Clair
Eastern Boundary: Wallace Line to County Rd. 42; County Rd. 42 to Lakeshore Rd. 107; Lakeshore Rd. 107 to North Rear Rd.; North Rear Rd. to Pleasant Park Side Rd.; Pleasant Park Side Rd. to County Rd. 46; County Road 46 to County Rd. 23; County Rd. 23 to County Rd. 8;County Rd. 8 to the eastern municipal boundaries for the Town of Essex; the eastern municipal boundaries for the Town of Essex to County Rd. 12
Southern Boundary: County Rd. 12 to Walker Road

For the French immersion, changed boundaries and a temporary school are needed because of overcrowding at Lakeshore Discovery in Emeryville and Percy P. McCallum in Windsor.
The new school should be complete by 2011 or 2012 and be ready to take 820 elementary school students and 500 high school students.
