The McCallum Concert Choir was invited to sing in Choirs Festivals Canada on Tuesday February 23rd, 2010. They sported their McCallum music shirts, sang beautifully in tune, remained patient through some technical difficulties and made us all proud to know that they represented McCallum.
Since this performance, McCallum has been invited to showcase at the teacher conference in early September! We are unsure about scheduled rehearsals at this time. Please congratulate those students who you see in the hallway dressed in McCallum music shirts!

Each rehearsal will be offered to all students consisting of:
- Instructional sectionals for particular instruments
- One on one lessons for students new to instrumental music
- Concert band rehearsal in preparation of community concerts
- Instruments will not be provided for these sessions

Our extremely talented musicians from the Gr. 6-8 band at McCallum took a high silver medal at their very first competition at Musicfest April 15th. We are so proud of our McCallum Cougars!
As well, Katie S. received the honour of “Top Musician” for the regionals, and Nick G. received the honour of “Top Musician” for the Herman Family of Schools band.
The Herman Community Band, of which several of our students are members, also took a silver medal in their first competition at Musicfest. We thank you for your dedication, and for representing your school so well.
And Thank-you to Mme Couvion for leadership and for preparing our musicians so well for this event!
